        Te Puke Environmental Forum

        Jellicoe Street, Te Puke
The Te Puke Environmental Forum is a group of volunteers dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the natural environment in Te Puke and the surrounding districts. We also take an active interest where the natural environment meets the built environment with input to the Te Puke Community Board, Western Bay of Plenty District Council and Bay of Plenty Regional Council via the submission process. This may be through the Te Puke Reserve Management Plan, the Te Puke Town Centre Plan, Annual Plans, Long Term Plans and Bay of Plenty Regional Council Policy Statements and Plans. Our group has been called upon to advise on local projects such as replacement street tree planting and specifying trees for local Reserves.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
        Margaret Mead, Cultural Anthropologist

"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world".    Anne Frank
We have a vision of how positive environmental planning, action and education can develop and play an important role in our community.
